To begin with, can you use someone else’s Sam’s Club Card?
Membership cards are non-transferable and are inclusive to card and household cardholders 18 years old and older. Your Membership card may only be used by YOU, the member on file, for security reasons.
Sam’s Club is a warehouse club that accepts only members, so you must have a membership to shop there. To guarantee that customers receive the best prices, warehouse clubs like this one are only open to members.

Can A Family Member Use My Sam’s Club Card?
Technically, a member of your family cannot use your Sam’s Club card. The cardholder must be present to make purchases at any Sam’s Club, per Sam’s Club policy. In most cases, family members over 18 are not permitted to use Sam’s Club cards in the name of another family member.
It is unclear whether Sam’s Club makes an exception for minors, but it would be a good idea to ask the staff at your local Sam’s Club for clarification.
Why Am I Unable To Use A Family Member’s Sam’s Club Card?
Sam’s Club mainly forbids family members, or anyone other than the cardholder themselves, from using the card for security reasons. The main goal is to avoid any worst-case scenario involving membership abuse and identity or card theft.
Sam’s Club even demands that customers provide a copy of their own passport-sized photo to be used on their Sam’s Club card so that their face can be matched to their ID when shopping. Therefore, you can’t get away with using someone else’s card at the counter, even if you look really similar.
What Can Family Members Do?
The family member with the card cannot be present whenever shopping needs to be done. What can you do when family members still reside in the same home and occasionally need to shop for one another?
Add-On Membership is a service provided by Sam’s Club and is frequently used by families or businesses. Up to 8 additional members may be added by Sam’s Club cardholders, while 16 additional members may be added by Plus membership holders. Keep in mind that Add-Ons are only Club memberships, not Plus memberships, on the cards of Plus members.
Does It Pay To Join Sam’s Club?
Having a family or running a business makes Sam’s Club membership worthwhile. If you’re doing it just for yourself, it’s not worth it. For only $45 you can get a basic membership that comes with two cards—one for you and one for a friend. Products from daily use to business use are available from them in a variety. Because they sell a lot of their goods in bulk (such as cereal, water bottles, and toilet paper), many of them are inexpensive.) and some stuff is not priced all that great (like electronics). The theory behind bulk purchasing is that you will spend more money up front but save money over time. Since a single person doesn’t use that much material, it is not ideal if the card is just for you. Sam’s Club frequently has sales where prices are further lowered. They also have a fantastic credit card that gives 5% cash back on gas!) Sam’s Club also strives to “please the member,” so they have a 90-day return policy on everything in the store, and they frequently allow you to get a refund after the fact.” Therefore, you won’t find a better return policy if you want to buy a tablet or a camera. Because I work there, I have a membership, which is complimentary for me. Given that I am a single man without a family, I would not purchase it. If I had a family, I would absolutely purchase it. Sam’s Club Or Costco, Which Is Superior?
I’m a member at both places and can summarize as below-
Costco Pros-
- overall better quality products. There are more branded products here.
- a wider variety of natural and organic foods.
- superior to Sam’s bakery. Cakes, cookies, and bread all taste much better.
- improved electronics warranties.
- offers a larger variety of ethnic products.
- More aware and involved employees are apparent.
Costco Cons-
- not organized well. It’s always a guessing game as to where the merchandise is placed because the aisles are not labeled.
- Costs a little more than Sams.
- On weekends, there are long lines!
Sams Club pros-
- merchandise a little cheaper than Costco.
- Better than Costco’s alcohol selection (at least in our region).
- Aisles are accurately labeled and everything is well organized and easy to find.
Sams Club cons –
- fewer organic or natural product options.
- The quality of bakery and house brand (Members Marks) products is not the best. merchandise with a similar brand (clothes, accessories, etc.) come by rarely.
- In comparison to their Costco counterparts, the staff doesn’t seem as knowledgeable or engaged.
Conclusion
The post was primarily concerned with using another person’s Sam’s Club card.
